Ships presentations on video

Scheepsmakelaardij Enkhuizen can present her ships on video as well. Together with Bootfil.nl Leeuwarden we now show the first video on this site. Please look at the schooner  Amazone ref. nr. 69332. As soon as the video starts you can press the HQ buttom for high quality. We'll work towards many video's to be added in the near future!

Is there any selling going on?

Yes, selling is going on and even quite well during the month of February.

 

Is financing going on?

Yes, financing is going on in the Netherlands at least, also for commercial ships. The interests for commercial ships are a bit higher now, but not too bad. In the live-aboard and pleasure yacht market the interests are quite reasonable.

 

What is on in ship’s trading these days?

The market is thin and the air is leaking out. Buyers always liked the feeling of making a good deal, but in the present circumstances this seems to have become a stipulation.

The prices do not fall badly because many sellers allow themselves to wait quite some time for the right offer.

Other sellers are doing business with a smile and accept the depreciation, satisfied that their money was in a ship and not in shares or somewhere on a cold island. To give up a bit is not always the same as loosing…

 

All we can do is keep trying as hard as we can and advise sellers to ask sharp prices.

Change of guard

Peter Rood replaced Arjen van der Bie

Arjen van de Bie left Scheepsmakelaardij Enkhuizen by the 1st of April. Arjen decided to return to his former profession in yachtservice and rigging with Tuned riggers in Enkhuizen. We thank Arjen for his great commitment over the years and wish him personally and professionally all the best in life.

EMCY certified Yachtbroker Peter Rood (1970), has had a lifelong affinity with water. He grew up on board a traditional clipper around the harbour of Enkhuizen. Peter gained worldwide sailing experience working on several (private) sailing vessels.

As an RYA Yacht Master, he has sailed over 100,000 nautical miles, cruising the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and Baltic regions. After settling ashore with his wife and growing family, Peter started a watersports venture for yacht servicing, ship chandling, boat management, refits and rigging. He also was involved in yacht and property management in the area of Torrevieja, Spain. The last four years Peter worked as a broker for de Valk Yachtbrokers Monnickendam and is delighted to join Scheepsmakelaardij Enkhuizen. Peter, welcome on board.
